About Steve Kovanis Landscape Architect

Steve is an experienced design professional with an easy-going personality and a meticulous eye for detail. His interest in landscape began at an early age in his parents’ vegetable garden, where he learned the necessary skills for growing food and nurturing plants. As a teenager, he transitioned this enjoyment of gardening into a neighborhood lawn and landscape maintenance business. Unknown at this time, a career in landscape architecture was born.

Steve’s early career included hands-on work in landscape construction and maintenance roles before returning to school for a formal education in landscape architecture. Upon graduating from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in 2009, Steve spent the next 12 years working in multi-disciplinary design firms in Santa Rosa, CA, as a designer, project manager, and finally as the principal landscape architect. In 2022, Steve decided the time was right to launch his own boutique landscape architecture consulting firm, which focuses on providing first-class customer service, exceptional design work, and competent project management. He is currently licensed in California and Nevada as a professional landscape architect. Steve works with diverse clients, consultants, and stakeholders on various project types, scales, and locations. He enjoys resolving the individual challenges each project inherently presents and the shared journey from project initiation through completion with his clients.
